about
Blone Noble returns with the follow-up to his debut single and video “Weapon Of Love,” released on Curation Records earlier this year. The new single “Pretty Picture” is set for release on Friday, June 16th. The video was shot entirely on VHS by artist Andrew Pitrone and is complied mostly of footage from the Blone Noble debut show at La Poubelle with Billy Tibbals band last November. Unlike February’s doomsday disco track this song is a lush, sprawling soundscape that harnesses the piano-forward sounds of Roxy Music swathed in synth strings à la New Order with shimmering backing vocals from bassist Marlena Schwenck, percussionist Andy Campanella, and Blone that evoke Love And Rockets or psychedelic-era Pretty Things. Noble’s brooding main vocal is Lou Reed tinged with the shine of a bottom-shelf balladeer reminiscent of Bowie’s verse delivery on “Sweet Thing” from the Diamond Dogs album. The introspective lyrics reflect the bottomless void that is our current global sickness for the next dopamine rush—what a pretty picture! Do we disconnect and retain our humanity or find god in the machine? Self-reliance is a dangerous game...

The trio cut basic tracks live at Figment Sounds in Toluca Lake with Rob Campanella (formerly of the Brian Jonestown Massacre) engineering and co-producing. Synth overdubs and vocals were recorded between Figment Sounds and Blone’s Hollywood Hills home (and former Theosophy temple library) Krotona of Old Hollywood. In 2022, Salway began performing live as Blone Noble in addition to a West Coast tour playing
