COMEBACK KID
THE SUN IS GOING DOWN IN HIGHLAND PARK
AND WINTER’S COMING SOON
LATELY HE JUST FEELS LIKE A GHOST
WHEN SHE WALKS INTO THE ROOM
PACKING UP HIS BAGS AND BELONGINGS
HE’S GONNA TAKE TO THE ROAD
THERE’S A PIECE OF HIM
HE LOST OUT THERE
AND HE’S COME FOR WHAT HE’S OWED
IT’S THE COMEBACK KID
THAT’S WHAT THEY’LL SAY
IT’S THE COMEBACK KID
HE’S ON HIS WAY
HE KNEW A GIRL BACK IN TAMPA
BUT HEARD THAT SHE LEFT TOWN
HE ALWAYS SWORE HE WOULD MAKE IT BACK
BUT HE NEVER GOT AROUND
HE SAID:
“I WONDER WHERE SHE LANDED,
IF SHE STILL REMEMBERS ME.
I GOT THIS FEELING LIKE IM STRANDED
AND I COULD USE THE COMPANY”
IT’S THE COMEBACK KID
THAT’S WHAT THEY’LL SAY
IT’S THE COMEBACK KID
HE’S ON HIS WAY
HEY, IT’S THE COMEBACK KID

Entire album is excellent. As is the rest of the catalog. Go back to 1970...take the Dead and Floyd and roll them up. Yet completely different.
Just plain old GOOD MUSIC. Ed Fransko
If Wooden Shjips traded their sails for a prairie schooner, this is what you might hear them playing around the campfire at night on the Great Plains: homespun country-rock with a hint of psychedelia. Wonderful stuff, from start to finish. neu-mann
A very clever songwriter and an album that bears many, many repeat listens. Worth the price for the Little Feat reference (in Tehachapi) alone, but it's her way with an image that sticks longest. "You left the building in a flurry / Had your boots on in the house." Caoimhín
Her voice, the vulnerability within, and a glorious sound, not overproduced but natural. 'Tender Heart' gets me - resonates in a way that is sad and glorious simultaneously. Discordant guitars behind a clean acoustic and voice ballad. Love her voice, her lyrics. Great album. BikeBoy29
